Center of Hope-Haiti Opens School with First Class of Students
October 31.2011. After a celebratory grand opening of the Center of Hope-Haiti Orphanage, last fall in Hinche, Haiti, James Lipscomb, Executive Director of COHH, has announced the opening of the COHH school. “We mark the opening of our school and celebrate our 15 children, 1 assistant principal, 1 teacher, 4 security guards, 1 cook, 1 housekeeper, 1 landscape maintenance and 1 sweeper,” writes James. “They are all grateful for the presence of COHH and now, of course, very dependent upon us for their future. Next year, we add another class and more support personnel. Please keep our COHH community in your thoughts and prayers as we continue our journey.”
Once the facilities are fully funded and staffed, COHH will be able to care for 100 children in the orphanage and teach 200 children in the school. You can help orphans in Haiti. Go to: www.centerofhope-haiti.org, or http://bit.ly/nyi1S8

Experience Sights and Sounds of God's People in Haiti On November 4, 2010, supporters of the Center of Hope-Haiti orphanage and school project gathered for the COHH Grand Opening and 5th Annual Gala held in the Ballroom of the Prince George Hotel in New York City. You can view the proceedings in part or all by following the link this link to the recorded live stream from that night (Internet Explorer required):
http://mediasite.yorkcast.com/webcast/Viewer/?peid=22acd2a0f208420790d5b6fe22d21f03
Of particular interest will be two videos of the orphanage project and people of Haiti make up significants parts of the program. The first video will run at the beginning of the recording and talk about the need. The second video begins at about 47:30 and will take you to the Grand Opening of the Orphanage in Haiti on October 20, 2010. In between, you can see and hear the program from the Ballroom that night, including a performance by the Youth Choir of the French Speaking Baptist Church of Stamford, CT. You may even see a familiar face or two! :) Thanks be to God!
